  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate internal input across Buyers, Category Managers, Legal, Risk, Insurance, Safety, Tax, and functional leaders to align corporate positions prior to supplier engagement.
  • Maintain System Auditability: Document key business decisions, legal feedback, and negotiation rationales within Contracts Center systems (Oracle) to support compliance, tracking, and handoffs for purchase order releases.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Identify recurring contracting bottlenecks, negotiation trends, and template gaps to contribute to the development of master agreements, negotiation playbooks, and optimized intake workflows.
  • Peer Mentorship: Provide technical advice, process guidance, and peer support to fellow Contracts Center team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: University degree, paralegal degree/diploma, or an equivalent combination of formal education and related experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management, commercial contract management, legal operations, procurement, or as a corporate in-house paralegal (flexibility of 1–2 years for candidates with highly relevant corporate background).
  • Technical Mastery: Demonstrated skill in drafting and negotiating complex supplier agreements using structured templates and negotiation parameters.
  • Legal & Commercial Acumen: Comprehensive knowledge of core contracting principles, including indemnity, limitation of liability, insurance, warranty, confidentiality, assignment, termination, and payment terms.
  • Communication Skills: Advanced written and verbal communication abilities, with a proven capacity to translate complex legal terms into practical language for business stakeholders.
  • Systems Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams, Adobe/electronic signature tools, and enterprise systems such as Oracle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: World Commerce & Contracting (formerly IACCM), Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), or accredited Paralegal/Procurement certifications.
  • Optimization Capabilities: Experience with master agreement strategy, alternate clause library development, or process improvement methodologies.
