Description

Reporting directly to the COO, the Vice President of Operations holds a strategic role at the heart of the company’s operations.

Working closely with the COO, the incumbent oversees day-to-day operations while actively contributing to the structuring of the organization to support its strong growth. Leading a team of about ten experienced professionals working in areas such as manufacturing, project management, procurement, logistics, and quality control, he is responsible for the overall project delivery process.

Beyond operational excellence, success in this role will depend primarily on the incumbent’s ability to quickly establish credibility with highly qualified teams, foster a lasting climate of trust, and bring together experts with many years of experience. The Vice President of Operations will be tasked with preserving the entrepreneurial culture that is the organization’s strength while introducing greater structure, collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, predictability, and rigor to support the next stages of growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for all operations related to international projects by promoting the integration and alignment of project management, procurement, logistics, quality, and manufacturing functions.
  • Oversee the execution of large-scale design-build projects, ensuring compliance with schedules, budgets, quality requirements, and contractual commitments.
  • Anticipate operational risks, implement appropriate mitigation strategies, and ensure effective project execution.
  • Develop and implement best practices for operational excellence by promoting continuous improvement, process optimization, the establishment of performance metrics, and greater operational predictability.
  • Motivate, support, and develop a multidisciplinary management team by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, responsibility, and talent development.
  • Serve as a mentor to managers to strengthen their leadership capabilities and ensure the teams’ sustained performance.
  • Work closely with the COO, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and members of the executive committee to contribute to strategic direction and support the company’s growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (industrial engineering strongly preferred)
  • An MBA or other complementary management education is a plus

Professional Experience

  • At least 15 years of relevant experience
  • Solid experience in a manufacturing environment and in the electronics sector
  • Experience in a growing small-to-medium-sized business (a significant asset)
  • Experience in a design-build context
  • Experience with multidisciplinary projects involving architects, engineers, general contractors, and clients
