Kafka Administrator / Kafka Architect

Remote, Canada | 12-Month T4 Contract | Remote


About the Role

Our consulting client is seeking an experienced Kafka Administrator / Kafka Architect to design, implement, and support enterprise-scale Kafka-based data streaming solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering Kafka environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable data integration solutions on Azure.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong Kafka administration and architecture experience who enjoy working on modern cloud-based streaming platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable Kafka-based solutions.
  • Administer and support enterprise Kafka environments.
  • Configure and manage Kafka Schema Registry and Kafka Connect.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Kafka clusters for performance and reliability.
  • Implement and support Confluent Kafka environments.
  • Utilize AMS for Apache Kafka to monitor cluster health and system performance.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and development teams to deliver Azure-based data streaming solutions.
  • Optimize database performance using ANSI SQL.
  • Conduct system health checks, audits, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Ensure Kafka environments meet security, scalability, and availability standards.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Contribute to data-driven initiatives that improve business decision-making.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this contract position is $61/hour (T4). Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
