Consulting Earth Scientists Pty Ltd (CES) is a specialist consultancy operating at the intersection of geotechnical engineering, contaminated land and landfill engineering. We work on technically complex projects where standard solutions do not apply and where engineering judgement is critical.
With offices in Sydney and Newcastle, CES delivers geotechnical and environmental solutions across a wide range of projects including landfill developments, contaminated land remediation and complex ground engineering challenges.
We are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in our Sydney Office and contribute to a diverse range of projects, while developing strong technical and site-based experience.
About the role
- Work on a broad range of geotechnical, landfill and contaminated land projects.
- Gain significant field experience, including site investigations and supervision.
- Contribute to geotechnical analysis and design.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Work closely with experienced engineers and technical specialists.
- Develop both technical and practical engineering skills.
The Candidate
- The ideal candidate will be an early to mid-career geotechnical engineer or engineering geologist looking to build your experience in a specialist consultancy environment.
- A degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
- A minimum 3 years post graduate geotechnical consulting experience.
- Experience with field investigations and site work.
- Experience with geotechnical analysis and design such as foundations, slope stability, retaining structures, ground treatment and ground improvement, rock mechanics, containment systems and geosynthetics.
- Excellent spoken English, report writing and written communication skills.
- A proactive and motivated approach to learning.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
