Truck Driver

Employer: M & G Haulage WA Pty Ltd Position: Truck Driver Location: Piara Waters, WA 6112 Job Type: Full-time (38 hours per week) Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum Our client, M & G Haulage WA Pty Ltd is looking for a skilled Truck Driver to join their team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport freight from one location to another in a timely and safe manner.
• Plan and follow appropriate routes to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Follow all relevant legislation and adhere to road rules at all times.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and complete fatigue management questions on MT Data.
• Maintain accurate records and paperwork relating to pick-up and delivery details on the VFS tablet and VFS systems.
• Obtain signatures or certifications to confirm receipt or delivery of cargo as required.
• Attend inductions for new sites and adhere to site safety protocols during loading and unloading procedures.
• Ensure goods are stored and secured adequately with straps, chains or other restraints to prevent shifting or falling during transit.
• Check the weight of freight to ensure it is evenly distributed across all axles and does not exceed the vehicle weight capacity or legal limits.
• Communicate effectively with fleet managers, customers and other drivers.
• Ensure driving hours are recorded accurately in MT Data.
• Assist with loading and unloading freight by positioning vehicles and using lifting and tipping mechanisms where required.
• Keep management informed of demerit point status where required.
• Maintain a clean and organised truck, both inside and outside.
• Conduct routine vehicle safety checks before driving, including checking for mechanical issues, ensuring lights and brakes are functioning properly, and promptly reporting maintenance concerns to maintain roadworthiness.
• Adhere to the traffic management plans of all depots attended.
• Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times.

Eligibility Criteria

• A valid commercial truck driving licence.
• A minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
• Sound knowledge of loading and unloading freight, including weight management requirements.
• Sound knowledge of road legislation and transport safety procedures.
• Good communication skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical.
• Ability to complete an annual medical, where applicable, for drivers over the age of 50.
• Ability to complete a National Police Check.
• Appropriate work rights or a valid working visa.
