Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Reproductive Medicine, working closely with Consultant Specialists, you will lead patient management for individuals and couples undergoing fertility care. Your role combines counselling on treatment options, including assisted conception and fertility preservation, with coordination of complex care pathways and multidisciplinary collaboration. You will manage a patient caseload, ensure timely investigations and treatment cycles, while supporting patients throughout their fertility journey.

Strong communication, organisational skills, and clinical expertise are essential, alongside the ability to work across teams and provide compassionate, patient-centred care.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications

• Registered Nurse Part 1, 2 or relevant section of the register
• BSc or working towards completion of a degree
• Post registration qualification in Fertility or fertility ultrasound

Desirable

• Leadership course
• Mentorship course
• Advance Communications Skills Training

Experience

• Experience working within Fertility/ Gynaecology/ Women's Health setting
• Experience of working autonomously at an advanced level. Delivering effective patient focused care.

Skills & Abilities

• Proven listening / counselling skills with the ability to manage complex situation and appropriately deliver sensitive and difficult outcomes.
• Ability to support and reassure patients/carers in distress in the clinical setting and over the telephone.
• Support colleagues in stressful situations
• Ability to cover the service within the team in a flexible positive approach so that leave will not adversely affect patient care and discharge of patients.
• Ability to deal with complex and difficult emotional situations

Desirable

• Experience of clinical supervision
