Get to Know Darwoft
At Darwoft, we build custom software solutions and partner with international companies to create high-impact digital products.
We are a Latin American technology company with a people-first culture, strong professional standards, and a long-term partnership mindset. We work with distributed teams, complex product challenges, and clients whose technology has a direct impact on their business and users.
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a fast-growing fintech company that builds financial tools for Latino immigrants in the United States.
Its conversational product enables users to send money to different Latin American countries through a simple and secure experience. The company is currently expanding into new markets, each with its own regulations, payout methods, documentation requirements, cultural nuances, and user behaviors.
The challenge goes beyond translating an existing experience. It involves designing a scalable product system that can adapt across multiple countries without losing consistency, clarity, usability, or brand identity.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead the design of geographic expansion and localization experiences.
You will be responsible for designing new international corridor launches end to end, defining which elements can remain consistent across markets, which ones need to adapt, and where existing product patterns stop working.
This is a hands-on role with close collaboration across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Research, external partners, and Content Design.
In a conversational product, words are part of the interface. Localization is therefore not treated as a final translation step, but as a product design decision that begins at the earliest stages of the process.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end experiences for new market and payment corridor launches.
- Define what each new market requires, what it can inherit, and where existing product patterns need to evolve.
- Design for regulatory, operational, and cultural variation rather than simple translation.
- Address differences involving payout rails, KYC documentation, regulatory disclosures, terminology, and user trust.
- Partner closely with Content Design to solve structure, language, tone, and user experience as a single product challenge.
- Build and strengthen scalable localization systems, including feature matrices, reusable components, design tokens, and content models.
- Collaborate directly with Product Managers, Engineering, Compliance, Research, and external partners.
- Research markets through product data, support tickets, proxy signals, partner insights, and user feedback.
- Ensure every market experience remains consistent with the company's product and brand identity.
- Create functional prototypes and use AI tools to accelerate exploration, iteration, and validation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing consumer digital products used by real customers.
- Proven experience designing or launching products across multiple countries, regions, or cultural contexts.
- Native or near-native Spanish and advanced English.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma.
- Strong experience with component architecture, design systems, and design tokens.
- Ability to design around regulatory, operational, technical, and cultural constraints.
- Experience partnering closely with Content Design, UX Writing, Localization, or similar functions.
- Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Research, Compliance, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize in fast-moving environments, and contribute from the first few weeks.
- Practical and demonstrable use of artificial intelligence within the design workflow.
AI-Assisted Design Workflow
We are looking for designers who use AI as a real part of their day-to-day work, for example:
- v0 or Cursor for functional prototyping.
- Claude Code for front-end iteration.
- LLMs for generating and evaluating content variants.
- Testing flows across multiple languages.
- Stress-testing edge cases and localization scenarios.
- Exploring concepts and accelerating design iteration.
AI should be used to expand the quality, speed, and range of the design process, not as a substitute for product thinking or design judgment.
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, payments, remittances, or financial products.
- Experience working across more than one country or market.
- Knowledge of localization and internationalization systems at scale.
- Experience designing conversational products.
- Familiarity with KYC, compliance, or financial regulation.
- Additional languages relevant to Latin American markets.
Contractor Conditions
- Full-time contractor engagement through Darwoft.
- 100% remote work.
- Paid PTO.
- Collaboration with international and distributed teams.
Portfolio Required
An updated portfolio is required to move forward in the process, including a password when applicable.
The portfolio should clearly demonstrate:
- The product problem addressed.
- Your role and level of ownership.
- The design decisions made.
- Collaboration with Product, Engineering, Content Design, or other stakeholders.
- Results, learnings, constraints, and trade-offs.
Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
