Manpower is partnering with a leading organization in the construction sector to recruit a Superintendent.
Are you an experienced construction leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently? We are looking for a Superintendent to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta.
As Superintendent, you will lead, direct, and coordinate the work of subcontractors, trades, and site personnel while overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned projects. This critical leadership role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Champion a strong safety culture by implementing and enforcing company safety programs.
- Lead and mentor field teams, fostering positive working relationships and strong team morale.
- Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback to site team members.
- Support the development, refinement, and execution of project schedules.
- Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions, and change notices.
- Identify project risks, design deficiencies, schedule impacts, and construction challenges, collaborating closely with Project Managers to develop solutions.
- Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure safety, quality, and scope requirements are met.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and material quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate labour and resources to achieve project objectives related to safety, schedule, and quality.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, including field reports, safety inspections, and schedule updates.
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Progressive experience as a Superintendent within a General Contracting environment
- Extensive experience managing commercial and institutional construction projects
- Ability to successfully lead projects valued between $10M and $25M
- 5-10 years of supervisory experience in construction
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, drawings, and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with P3 and Design-Build projects
- Trade background in Carpentry
- Gold Seal Certification is considered an asset
- Proven ability to lead teams and subcontractors to achieve outstanding project results
- Strong workforce planning, scheduling, and coordination skills
- Demonstrated expertise in safety, quality, project execution, cost control, and site administration
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Relationship-focused leader who builds trust with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and teammates
- Results-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellence
