- Maintaining accurate accounting and project system data
- Working with internal teams to resolve questions, discrepancies, and exceptions
- Supporting process improvements, reporting improvements, and workflow enhancements over time
- Assisting with audit, tax, compliance, and other accounting requirements as needed
- Learning the business and growing into broader accounting responsibilities
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong general accounting knowledge, including GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience with reporting, working papers, financial analysis, or operational accounting support
- Exposure to project accounting, professional services, engineering, consulting, construction, manufacturing, or other project-based environments would be an asset
- CPA enrollment or plans to pursue CPA would be preferred
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting or ERP systems
- Clear, professional communication skills
- Ability to work well with non-finance teams
- Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability
- A respectful, humble, team-oriented approach
- Someone who is coachable, curious, and interested in being mentored and developed over time
Why this role?
This is a stable, long-term opportunity with a collaborative team and strong mentorship. The company is looking for someone who wants to grow with the organization, learn the business, and become a trusted accounting partner to internal stakeholders.
Compensation and benefits:
- Salary range: $75,000 to $90,000, depending on experience
- Bonus eligibility after one year
- RRSP matching
- Travel allowance
- Excellent benefits
- Health spending account
- Paid overtime
- 7.5-hour workdays
