About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join our team in Bundall, Queensland on a full-time basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Finance department, supporting the accurate preparation and reporting of our financial statements whilst ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded and classified
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards, timely submission of monthly PAYG and quarterly BAS
Manage and prepare weekly payroll and monthly payroll tax submission
Process and code financial transactions, invoices and supporting documentation
Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analyses for management and external accountant
Maintain comprehensive financial records and supporting documentation
Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
What we're looking for
Relevant qualification in accounting or finance (such as CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification, or currently working towards one)
Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting within a similar role
Strong proficiency with accounting software and financial reporting systems, Xero preferred
Solid understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial records
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant office applications
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with team members
