MARS Recruitment is partnering with a leading Australian financial services organisation to recruit a Financial Accountant into its high-performing Financial Control team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a top-tier Australian financial services brand, offering broad exposure to financial control, statutory reporting, regulatory reporting and audit within a complex and highly regulated environment. Working alongside experienced finance leaders, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting while developing your technical accounting and financial control expertise.

As part of the Financial Control team, you'll support the delivery of financial control across a portfolio of legal entities within a large and complex financial services business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the month-end close process and financial control activities across multiple legal entities.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and support regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis and investigate financial variances.
  • Prepare and support AFSL financial monitoring reports and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate external audit requests and assist with the year-end audit process.
  • Provide technical accounting support and contribute to strengthening the financial control framework.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong governance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting processes and operational efficiencies.

Key Requirements:

  • CA qualified with full Australian working rights.
  • Big 4 Senior Associate or Assistant Manager level, looking to make their first move into commerce.
  • Demonstrated experience auditing financial services clients, ideally across banking, wealth management, asset management or lending.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS/AASB, financial reporting and financial control.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across the business.
