Inbound Warehouse Planner

Our client is a National Furniture Wholesale business based in Thomastown, Victoria with Distribution centres throughout Australia.

They are currently looking for an Inbound Warehouse Planner to work with their Warehouse & Distribution Manager, who currently oversees the administrative operation of our warehouse in Melbourne & liaises with our interstate distribution partners.

The existing warehouse team will assist you throughout your journey, however some experience in the field of warehouse management & distribution would be preferred.

Duties & Skills may include but not limited to…

  • Managing planning & delivery of inbound container shipments to local & Interstate Distribution Centres
  • Booking & Managing container crew at Melbourne Warehouse
  • Overseeing and Managing casual staff on site
  • Enforcing proper unloading procedures and storage of product into warehouse
  • Forklift operating (Critical)
  • Moving stock (manually) as required
  • Order Picking as required
  • Communicating with interstate logistic partners & transport carriers
  • Stocktake (Local & interstate as required)
  • Product QC as required
  • Product Assembly as required
  • Maintaining Accurate & up to date information in ERP system
  • Liaising & communicating with the MP team regularly
  • Attend warehouse meetings are required
  • Reporting to Director, CSCO & COO as required

  • Has the ability to meet the physical demands of the job. Being furniture wholesalers, many of the items we stock are large and often quite heavy. It is important that you are able & comfortable handling these items from time to time.
  • Is very well organised. We pride ourselves on running a tight ship, however this can only happen if we have everyone onboard with our vision and policies. It's critical that everyone understands and appreciates the need for organisation in the warehouse.
  • Has great team management skills. You will be responsible for managing a small team of workers, therefore strong people management skills are essential to ensure the warehouse is efficient and effective.
  • Strong computer literacy is critical to ensure you can work efficiently and meet the demands of the role. Having recently introduced a new ERP system, much of the information required to operate will be derived from your PC

In return you will receive

  • $35 per hour based on experience.
