Legal Secretary / Admin
Family Law Resolutions
Job Description
About us
Family Law Resolutions is a friendly, boutique family law firm located at Fullarton, just minutes from the Adelaide CBD. We help our clients navigate separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, property settlements and related family law matters. Our work is sensitive and personal, and we pride ourselves on delivering practical, compassionate legal advice in a supportive and professional environment.
We are now looking for a motivated and personable team member to join our small team. We are flexible on hours: this role can be offered on a part-time or full-time basis, from approximately 2 to 5 days per week, and we are happy to discuss an arrangement that suits the right person.
About the role
This is a varied, hands-on role combining front-of-house reception, legal secretarial work, and general office administration. You will be the first point of contact for our clients (often at a stressful time in their lives) and will play a central part in keeping the firm running smoothly. You will work closely with our practitioners across all stages of family law matters, from initial enquiry through to resolution.
Prior experience in an administrative, paralegal or legal support role will be highly regarded but is not essential. The right attitude and work ethic matter more to us than a long CV, and we will provide training and support as you grow with the firm.
Key responsibilities
- Answering telephone calls and handling enquiries from new and existing clients
- Opening, maintaining and closing client files in accordance with firm procedures
- General office administrative duties including scanning, photocopying, typing and document management
- Sending, receiving and managing email correspondence and enquiries
- Managing calendar bookings, appointments, conferences and mediations
- Managing inbound and outbound mail
- Data entry and file management within our practice management system
- Providing high quality secretarial and administrative support to our legal practitioners
- Assisting with the filing of court applications and the preparation of legal correspondence and drafting
- Liaising with clients, opposing solicitors, the Court and third parties as required
- Maintaining the reception area and presentation of the office
About you

- Confidence in handling client requests and queries with empathy and discretion
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Professional presentation and the ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels
