Manager, Project Controls
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a full-time Manager, Project Controls to lead the cost, schedule, and reporting activities for the Demonstration Program as well as the Clearwater Project in Alberta, with work based in Calgary.
This role works closely with project leadership to ensure disciplined control over project performance through FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project cost and schedule baselines for Clearwater Project scopes.
- Oversee cost tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and earned value reporting.
- Lead development and maintenance of integrated project schedules, including critical path and milestone tracking.
- Support the development of capital cost estimates to both CIM and AACE standards.
- Implement change management processes, including evaluation of change orders and assessment of cost/schedule impacts.
- Support risk management processes, including risk register maintenance and contingency analysis.
- Prepare regular performance reports, dashboards, and KPIs for project leadership and corporate stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project managers, project engineers, supply chain, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment between controls and execution.
- Mentor and supervise project controls staff supporting the project.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in project controls for industrial or energy projects.
- Demonstrated experience developing capital cost estimates to AACE or CIM standards.
- Strong proficiency with scheduling and cost management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, cost control/ERP systems).
- Experience with earned value management and capital project reporting.
- Experience working in owner's team environments.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex project performance information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
