What You Will Do

Summary

Join our team as a LicensedPractical Nurse (LPN), where you'll providecompassionate, person-centredcare while workingcollaboratively with aninterdisciplinary healthcareteam. In thisrole, you'll assess, plan, implement, andevaluate resident/patientcare, advocate forindividual needs, andsupport overallhealth and well-being. Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

Minimum Nurse-to-Patient Ratios (mNPR) set the minimum number of nurses required to safely care for patients on a given unit. Developed in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the BC Nurses' Union (BCNU), and health organizations across British Columbia, mNPR provides a consistent and transparent approach to staffing that supports safe nursing practice and high-quality patient care. What You Bring

Education

• Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant. Current basic cardiac life support certification.

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.


• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Your Day to Day:

• Deliversafe, compassionate, person-centred nursing carein accordance withLPN standards andindividualized care plans.


• Perform comprehensive patient/resident assessments, monitorchanges in condition, and communicate concernsto the careteam.


• Administer medications (excluding IV), monitor therapeutic effects, and carry outphysician orders accurately.


• Develop, implement, evaluate, and document nursingcare plans andinterventions.


• Collaborate with physiciansand the interdisciplinaryteam to supportquality patient/residentcare and dischargeplanning.


• Prepare and supportpatients/residents foradmissions, transfers, procedures,and discharges.


• Educate patients/residentsand families, promoteinformed decision-making, and advocate fortheir physical, emotional, cultural, andspiritual needs.


• Respond appropriately toemergencies, incidents,and safetyconcerns while followingestablished reporting procedures.


• Mentor and supportnew staff andstudents by sharingclinical knowledge andbestpractices.


• Participate in careconferences, team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and maintain asafe, organized careenvironment.
