Why a Great Opportunity Our client, an established and progressive automotive manufacturer, is seeking a Engineer Casting HPDC to join their team in New York state to take on a high level of responsibility, share knowledge, and develop ideas.
Job Description Sr. Casting Engineer HPDC
Oversee the process and tool design of casting suppliers and enforce adhesion to a process design best practice
Define and develop an Aluminum HPDC bill of or process and design for castings.
Drive internal and external use of casting simulation software to improve quality and cost and mitigate tool alterations and modifications
Support suppliers with regular reviews and help drive issue resolution
Diagnose and implement corrective actions for casting defects
Participate in product cost and quality improvement efforts
Travel to foundries for workshops and new supplier development
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study
Minimum of 5 years of experience with Aluminum High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) preferably within the automotive field
Strong understanding of Aluminum HPDC Process Design
Knowledge of production tool design, aluminum material grades and properties
Ability to provide design for manufacturing support to guide product engineers during advanced engineering & design phases
Experience with PROCAST or similar software
Ability to diagnose casting defects and provide corrective actions
Good comprehension of die casting standards (NADCA)
