POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Account Manager, MidâMarket to support entrepreneurs in the Edmonton market. In this role you will leverage your financial expertise, business development skills, and professional network to deliver customized financing and advisory solutions to midâmarket clients with revenues between $3M and $50M. Your work directly contributes to the growth and success of Canadian businesses at BDC, the bank dedicated exclusively to Canadian entrepreneurs.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Develop and execute a structured action plan aligned with the Business Centreâs objectives to drive portfolio growth, client retention, and acquisition of new selfâsourced business opportunities.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of midâmarket clients by building longâterm relationships with business owners and senior decisionâmakers.
- Actively engage with the Edmonton business community by networking with local associations, chambers of commerce, and professional partners to generate referrals and new client opportunities.
- Apply strong analytical, credit judgment, and negotiation skills to structure, present, and recommend financing solutions that meet both client needs and BDCâs risk and credit requirements.
- Collaborate with internal partners to deliver integrated financing and advisory solutions that support entrepreneurs in improving and growing their businesses.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelorâs degree in commerce, business administration, or a related field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant clientâfacing experience in commercial banking
- Experience in business development, including prospecting, pipeline development, and followâup strategies
- Ability to analyze business models, assess client needs, and structure financing solutions
- Strong negotiation skills with experience influencing and persuading senior business decisionâmakers
- Ability to manage multiple client files and projects while meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication and relationshipâbuilding skills
- Valid driverâs license and access to a vehicle
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Established professional network within Edmonton and surrounding areas
- Experience working with midâmarket businesses (revenues between $3M and $50M)
- Strong understanding of local market trends and entrepreneurial ecosystems
