Foreign Trade Analyst â Peru
We are seeking a Foreign Trade Analyst to join our Consumables Logistics SAM team in Lima â Ate. The role involves coordinating and overseeing complex logistics activities for mining consumables such as screening media, wear liners, pumps, and mill lining components. You will support production, warehousing, and transportation teams by managing higherâcomplexity shipments, guiding logistics processes, and serving as the key point of contact for internal teams, customers, and logistics partners.
This position reports to the Assistant Manager, CNS Logistics Chile and is located at our Metso Peru Rubber Polymet factory.
Team
You will work with a team of supply chain and logistics experts focused on optimizing warehousing and distribution processes. The team is passionate about reliable delivery performance, continuous improvement, visibility, and tracking processes, and operates across Brazil, Chile, and Peru.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the release and shipment of goods once production, fabrication, or picking is complete, ensuring accurate and timely dispatch for export processes.
- Manage and support complex inbound (imports) and outbound (exports) shipments, including heavy, oversized, multiâcomponent, or multiâstop deliveries.
- Prepare, review, and validate shipping documentation, including materials requiring special handling or regulatory compliance.
- Track and monitor deliveries to a wide range of destinationsâwarehouses, customer facilities, mine sites, and remote locationsâwhile overseeing shipments handled by companyâarranged carriers and customerâarranged logistics partners.
- Serve as an escalation point for logistics questions from sales, customer service, production planning, procurement, warehouse, vendor, and logistics service provider personnel.
- Maintain accurate shipment and movement records in ERP systems, ensuring traceability and alignment with internal processes.
- Identify and resolve logistics issues such as carrier delays, routing challenges, or urgent customer needs, and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
- Technical or university degree in Foreign Trade, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in logistics, foreign trade, supply chain, or warehouse operations, ideally within mining, heavy industry, or industrial consumables.
- Strong ability to coordinate shipments involving large, heavy, or specialized components.
- Ability to support operations serving both standard and remote delivery environments.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, TMS, logistics KPIs, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Advanced level of English.
- Solid experience with inbound and outbound government requirements, including customs compliance, broker management, audit support, and product classification (HS codes / tariff classification). This is a valuable asset.
