Staff Design Engineer
Tasklet
Job Description
At Tasklet, we’re building the cloud agent OS for work. Our product is redefining how knowledge workers interact with software — instead of switching between dozens of apps, our users work through a single AI agent that orchestrates everything. Our UI is minimal, chat‑centric, and deceptively simple. When more UI is required, it is generated with AI on the fly. We believe we can be the main app that most knowledge workers use for everything. We’re looking for a principal‑level design engineer to own the entire design surface of Tasklet. This is a foundational leadership role with very generous equity — we need someone truly world‑class. Compensation $300k → $410k salary 0.60% → 1.20% equity Competitive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, 4 weeks PTO, free lunch, etc) Responsibilities Own the end-to-end design of Tasklet — navigation, discovery, visual design, and interaction patterns Design the first 5 minutes: make onboarding for a product with near-infinite capabilities feel effortless Make AI agent interactions feel simple and intuitive, even as the underlying system grows massively in power Define the visual language and interaction model for a new category of product — there is no playbook, you’ll write it Build what you design. We need a designer who can ship production code, not someone who just hands off mockups.
Raise our level of polish until we don’t feel like a startup product anymore Ideal Candidate You’re a designer‑engineer hybrid who ships production UI, not just Figma files Exceptional visual design taste and deep interaction design intuition You’ve designed for complex systems and made them feel simple — ideally at a product used by a lot of users Strong opinions about AI UX and how humans should interact with agents You could easily lead design efforts at a top AI lab — but you want the outsized impact of a startup, and you believe Tasklet can win #J-18808-Ljbffr
