Cost Manager

As a Cost Manager working within the Project Management team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a key role in contributing to the financial control and success of major construction projects. Supporting large‑scale building and infrastructure projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion, you will analyze, develop, and manage budgets while helping project teams make sound financial and business decisions. What You Will Do Organize and supervise the cost control team on major projects, including task allocation and team development Develop, monitor, and communicate cost control processes and procedures to operational teams Oversee operational dashboards and identify opportunities for budget optimization Ensure the application of Major Project Management methods and recommend improvements Collaborate closely with Construction, Procurement, and Contracts teams Develop strategic and operational dashboards aligned with business objectives and annual action plans Perform in‐depth analysis of project performance (progress, entitlements, quantities, key ratios, etc.) Lead proactive cost management activities, including: Budget recalibration Strategic contract management Overhead cost control Manage cost contingencies across: Client budgets (Estimates) Commitments Forecasts and projections Align cost forecasts (CBS) with project schedules (Primavera P6 WBS) Assess financial impact of schedule changes, including delays, compression, and resequencing This Role Could Be for You If You Have Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, or a related field 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in a leadership or team management role Strong knowledge of: Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) Fluency in English and French (written and spoken) Basic knowledge of scheduling, ideally with Primavera P6 Additional Assets Experience in the construction industry Knowledge of systems such as: SAP Procore Other enterprise financial and cost control systems Familiarity with project controls platforms such as: InEight CostX DESTINI (or similar tools) Benefits RRSP with up to 5% employer matching Hybrid work model for corporate roles Employee stock ownership program Career growth through real development opportunities Transit pass reimbursement — get to work for free Minimum 4 weeks of vacation from day one The expected compensation range posted for this role applies to available work locations in Ontario and/or British Columbia.
