Company Description Automation Engineering & Controls LTD (AEC) delivers new, used, and remanufactured automated process solutions across all manufacturing sectors. The company supports clients through equipment breakdown response, technical training, repairs, and project management. AEC also provides consultancy services to optimise manufacturing processes and improve productivity.

In addition, the organization offers sales of automation equipment, giving customers access to tailored solutions for their operational needs. Role Description The Automation Engineer role at AEC is an on-site and customer site position, focused on supporting and improving automated manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include designing, programming, and commissioning automation and control systems, as well as diagnosing and resolving equipment and process issues.

The role involves collaborating with project teams on upgrades and new installations, performing routine maintenance, and documenting technical changes and system configurations. The Automation Engineer will also support training initiatives for customers and internal staff and contribute to continuous improvement of safety, efficiency, and reliability in automated operations. There are also potential mechanical and electrical tasks to this role, making the role a very diverse position skill wise and provides a very varied equipment base to learn and work with.

Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving control system and equipment issues. Candidates should possess Process Control and Automation skills for designing, optimizing, and maintaining automated manufacturing systems. Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills for working with control panels, wiring, PLCs, and related hardware.

Candidates should possess Robotics skills for integrating, programming, and maintaining robotic systems within production lines. Relevant technical qualification in engineering, automation, or a related field (e.g., apprenticeship, degree, HND, or equivalent) is beneficial. Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments is advantageous.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and documentation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work safely and collaboratively on-site. #J-18808-Ljbffr
