Your Opportunity Our Vancouver office is seeking a Manager to join our Capital Markets Assurance team. This role provides an opportunity to work with dynamic publicly listed companies, SEC registrants, high‑growth enterprises, and organizations pursuing public market transactions. The successful candidate will lead assurance engagements, provide technical accounting guidance, support capital markets activities, and help develop both client relationships and future leaders within the practice.
Responsibilities Lead assurance and non‑assurance engagements for Canadian reporting issuers, SEC registrants, and companies pursuing public market transactions in compliance with Canadian, U.S., and PCAOB standards Plan and manage engagements, including risk assessment, materiality, budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and execution Provide technical accounting and financial reporting guidance under IFRS and U.S. GAAP, including the review of financial statements and public company disclosures Support capital markets transactions, including IPOs, financings, prospectus offerings, acquisitions, due diligence engagements, and other public market activities Ensure compliance with firm methodology, quality management standards, CPAB requirements, and PCAOB inspection expectations while maintaining high audit quality Identify and support your team’s response to financial reporting, operational, fraud, and regulatory risks and resolve complex accounting and regulatory matters Be part of teams that build strong relationships with clients, Audit Committees, Boards of Directors, and senior management while supporting business development initiatives Supervise, coach, and develop team members and collaborate with specialists and cross‑functional teams to deliver exceptional client service Success Metrics You consistently embody BDO Canada’s core values—integrity, respect, collaboration, and accountability—across all aspects of your work Clients view you as a trusted advisor who delivers high‑quality service, understands their business, and provides practical solutions to complex challenges You build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and engaging workplace You embrace innovation through the effective use of digital tools, analytics, and emerging technologies to enhance client service and audit quality You support the development of others through coaching, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, while maintaining a commitment to continuous professional growth Qualifications CPA designation is required Minimum 1–3 years of management experience and 2–5 years of public company audit experience within a public accounting environment Experience working with Canadian reporting issuers, SEC registrants, and/or companies pursuing public market transactions Strong knowledge of IFRS, Canadian public company reporting requirements, and public company assurance engagements; experience with U.S. GAAP, PCAOB auditing standards, and SEC reporting requirements is an asset Experience with ICFR and public company governance environments is preferred Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities, supported by strong analytical, problem‑solving, project management, and communication skills Committed to client service, teamwork, technical excellence, professional development, and supporting high‑growth and publicly traded organizations Salary Range $76,000 – $126,000 annually Benefits Our firm is committed to providing an environment where you can be successful in the following ways: we enable you to engage with how we change and evolve, being a key contributor to the success and growth of BDO in Canada; we help you become a better professional through extensive learning and development opportunities; we support your achievement of personal goals outside of the office and making an impact on your community.
