Reporting directly to the Management Committee of the school, this individual is responsible for the academic vision, operational excellence, community engagement, and overall reputation of the campus. This is a role for a leader who is equally at home in the boardroom and the classroom — someone who understands that great schools are built on great culture, and that culture begins at the top. ───────────────────────────────────────── KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ───────────────────────────────────────── Academic Leadership • Set and sustain high academic standards across all grades and subjects • Drive a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning • Conduct formal classroom observations of every teacher a minimum of twice per academic year, with structured written feedback and follow-up • Work in close coordination with the Head of Teaching & Learning to ensure curriculum delivery, assessment quality, and staff development Admissions & Enrolment • Provide strategic oversight of the admissions function • Own and drive annual enrolment targets for the campus • Actively participate in parent engagement, campus visits, and community outreach to strengthen the school's pipeline External Liaison & Representation • Serve as the primary representative of the school in all external engagements • Build and maintain productive relationships with CBSE, the district education office, and relevant civic and government bodies • Protect and enhance the school's reputation in the wider community Governance & Parent Engagement • Manage the School Management Committee (SMC) in full compliance with statutory requirements • Lead the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and foster a culture of open, constructive parent engagement • Ensure all governance obligations are met without exception Staff Leadership & Culture • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team of educators and administrators • Build a campus culture defined by accountability, collaboration, and pride in the institution • Address performance and conduct matters with fairness and decisiveness Operations & Compliance • Ensure the campus meets all CBSE affiliation requirements and regulatory standards • Maintain infrastructure, safety, and operational systems to the highest standard • Submit monthly performance reports to the President covering academics, admissions, staff, and operations ───────────────────────────────────────── WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ───────────────────────────────────────── • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in school leadership, with at least 5 years as a Principal. • Proven track record of academic improvement and institutional growth • Deep familiarity with the CBSE framework and its regulatory requirements • Postgraduate degree in Education or a relevant discipline; B.Ed. mandatory • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and community engagement skills • A leader of high integrity who leads by example and builds trust at every level of the organisation • A genuine and abiding belief in the transformative power of quality education Interested candidates are invited to apply through LinkedIn or write directly to director@banyantree,in with their curriculum vitae and a brief note on their philosophy of school leadership.
