Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Site Manager to join our HMP Glasgow team based in Glasgow. Kier Construction have been appointed to deliver one of Scotland's largest ever construction projects. HMP Glasgow will provide a safe, secure, energy efficient custodial facility to house 2,000 inmates and staff located northeast of Glasgow city.

This Β£750 million project will replace Glasgow's ageing Barlinnie prison with a rehabilitation-focused modern facility, utilising cutting-edge Modern Methods of Construction, making this a true flagship project for the Scottish Construction sector and Kier Construction. As Senior Site Manager, you'll be involved in the delivery of one of the major buildings on campus - a two-storey, steel frame structure valued at over Β£45 million. You'll ensure safe on-site delivery of work, managing subcontractors, labour, plant and materials whilst adhering to stringent health and safety and quality standards.

As a Senior Site Manager, you'll be working within the HMP Glasgow team, supporting them in the safe delivery of this landmark construction project. Managing and directing subcontractor partners to safely deliver work packages covering groundworks, drainage, structural frame erection, roofing, cladding, interior fit out and finishings Ensuring quality is maintained to Kier standards through effective supervision of subcontractors and Kier staff on site Reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements from subcontractors to ensure working methods are safe and appropriate This role of Senior Site Manager is great for you if: You have prior experience in a management role within a large construction environment with a main contractor You have a strong technical understanding of building construction and can offer practical solutions to emerging challenges You hold relevant construction qualifications (HND/Degree/SVQ or Technical Trade), SMSTS 5 Day Certification, CSCS Card, First Aid Certificate and Full driving licence Diversity and inclusion Our employees are key in shaping Kier's diversity and inclusion initiatives and our people have made a huge impact on how we work, by using their experiences to shape our policies.
