ROLE OVERVIEW The PR Manager will build and run Dot & Key earned media engine - press, editorial, and reputation management. This role sits at the intersection of brand positioning and performance every press placement, every product feature, and every media relationship must be traceable to awareness, trust, or search equity. You will own the relationship with PR agencies, manage a direct ORM function, and work closely with the Content and Performance teams to amplify earned coverage into paid and owned channels.

KEY DETAILS Department: Digital & Media Marketing Reports To: Media Head Location: Kolkata Experience: 5-8 years in PR, with 2+ years managing D2C or beauty/FMCG brands WHAT YOU WILL OWN • End-to-end PR strategy: press releases, media pitches, editorial calendars, and coverage tracking • Media and journalist relationships across beauty, lifestyle, business, and digital publications • Agency management: briefing, output review, and performance assessment • Product launch PR: seeding strategy, embargo management, and launch-day amplification • ORM (Online Reputation Management): monitoring, response protocols, and sentiment trend reporting • Crisis communications: drafting holding statements, coordinating responses with legal and leadership • PR-to-performance loop: briefing the performance team on high-value coverage for retargeting and whitelisting • Award submissions, brand rankings, and industry recognition calendars MUST-HAVE EXPERIENCE • Managed PR for a consumer brand - beauty, skincare, FMCG, or D2C preferred • Strong existing relationships with journalists and editors at top-tier Indian publications (Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Femina, Economic Times, Mint, Business Standard) • Managed or closely supervised a PR agency - written briefs, reviewed outputs, managed KPIs • Handled a brand crisis or negative press cycle - knows how to triage, not just execute • Understands the intersection of earned and paid media - knows when a press feature is worth promoting • Excellent writing: can draft a press release, a pitch email, and a crisis statement to equal standard NICE-TO-HAVE • Experience with influencer PR (distinct from paid influencer marketing) - product seeding, gifting strategy • Understanding of AEO/GEO - how earned citations in trusted publications influence AI visibility • Knowledge of Meltwater, Cision, or similar media monitoring platforms • Experience building a brand's Wikipedia presence or managing Crunchbase/entity profiles WHAT WE WILL MEASURE YOU ON • Volume and quality of press placements per month (tier 1 / tier 2 / digital) • Share of voice in key beauty and skincare editorial categories • ORM sentiment score trends (target: sustain 80%+ positive) • PR-to-performance amplification rate (% of earned placements boosted or whitelisted) • Agency output vs brief - coverage delivery against committed KPIs
