Job Description
Corrpro Canada is looking for an Accounting Manager Position Summary The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Responsibilities Maintain and oversee the general ledger, including preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, and account analysis. Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision‑making. Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls. Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets. Manage and mentor accounting staff (Accounts Payable and Staff Accountant). Correspond and verbally communicate professionally with customers.
Represent the Company professionally, upholding a high degree of respect for all existing and potential customers. Produce ad‑hoc reporting as required. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination. 5 years of direct experience in accounting capacity. Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Other Skills & Abilities Reasoning Skills: Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills to handle late payments and delinquent accounts.
Proven ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records. Knowledge of payment regulations and fair credit practices. High moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions.
Experience in gathering data, compiling information, and preparing financial reports. Capable of performing moderate to complex account reconciliations. Computer‑Based: Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with Business Central or a similar ERP system is highly preferred.
