Job Description Job Description Johnson Service Group is seeking a skilled and experienced Quality Engineer for a 3-month contract position in the Los Angeles, CA area. Temporary Backfill Position – Could become permanent Job Title: Quality Engineer II Pay Rate: $/hr Location: Los Angeles, CA (90039) Contract Length: 3-months, could be considered for permanent hire at end of contract Schedule: M-F 7:00AM - 4:00PM Primary Function: This position is responsible for performing Quality Engineering duties to support hydromechanical and electromechanical products in fabrication, assembly, and test. This role is fully onsite. Essential Functions: Provide Quality Assurance support to customers and internal functions including Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Customers, and Suppliers Support non-conforming material control processes, including Material Review Board (MRB) Review and approve product drawings, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), manufacturing process plans, and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) Oversee review, implementation, and flow-down of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) into manufacturing and the supply chain Drive processing of Customer RMAs, including failure analysis and communication with customers Support internal and customer audits (system, process, and product) Develop and implement product quality plans, PFMEA, and control plans Support proof-of-build (POB) activities and assist in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes Facilitate assembly and test process improvements and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities Ensure adherence to AS9100 Quality Management System requirements and drive continuous improvement Maintain accurate reporting systems to support departmental KPIs Perform other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of progressive quality experience in aerospace, mechanical, or ITAR industrial manufacturing environments Quality Engineering experience in Mechanical Assemblies Knowledge of quality engineering disciplines and manufacturing concepts Experience with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-Why, and PFMEA Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification Experience with GD&T Experience with hydraulic or hydromechanical assembly and testing Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data sheets, and schematics Knowledge of quality and metrology principles Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and PDF tools Ability to communicate effectively with Engineering, Tooling, and Production teams to ensure specification compliance Company Description Johnson Service Group, Inc.
