Job Description
Cornea and Cataract Consultants of Orlando (eyesorlando.com) is seeking an experienced Practice Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our growing ophthalmology practice. This is a full-time remote position working on U.S. Eastern Time .
The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, and medical billing oversight, along with excellent spoken and written English skills . Because this role involves frequent communication with U.S. patients, physicians, insurance companies, attorneys, and business partners, candidates must be able to communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently in English. About the Role As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee practice operations, monitor revenue cycle performance, support front-office functions, and help ensure the smooth day-to-day management of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities Operations Oversee daily clinic operations and workflows. Support leadership with daily, weekly, and monthly priorities. Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Assist front desk operations as needed. Coordinate with staff, vendors, and external partners. Track operational metrics and report performance.
Revenue Cycle & Billing Oversight Oversee medical billing and revenue cycle performance. Monitor insurance eligibility verification and prior authorizations. Review patient balances, accounts receivable, and denial trends.
Generate and analyze monthly A/R and denial reports. Address complex patient billing inquiries. Ensure compliance with payer requirements and billing best practices.
Patient & Administrative Support Assist with patient scheduling as needed. Provide professional phone, email, and patient support. Prepare correspondence for patients, insurance companies, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate medical records requests and related documentation. Maintain compliance with HIPAA and practice policies. Marketing & Practice Support Collaborate with the marketing team on patient outreach initiatives.
Support practice growth projects and special initiatives. Monitor and respond to online reviews, including daily Google review management. Qualifications Required Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Solid understanding of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), medical billing, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and denial management. Experience with EMR and practice management systems. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Professional communication skills when interacting with U.S.-based patients, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals.
Preferred 3โ5 years of healthcare operations, medical billing, or revenue cycle management experience. Ophthalmology or specialty practice experience. Experience managing healthcare operations or administrative teams.
Familiarity with U.S. insurance and reimbursement processes. Experience with EHR Modernizing Medicine (modmed.com). Front desk and patient scheduling experience.
Additional Requirements Full-time availability during U.S. Eastern Time business hours, with occasional weekend coverage as needed. Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home office.
