Role: Java Scala Developer (Backend | Microservices | Kafka | Cloud) Location: Mumbai, MH We are hiring a skilled Java Scala Developer with 5-10 years of experience in building enterprise-grade backend systems. The role involves designing and developing scalable, high-performance, and distributed applications in a modern microservices-based architecture. Role Overview: The candidate will be responsible for building resilient backend services using Java and Scala, working on event-driven architectures, and delivering scalable enterprise solutions in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Scala Build scalable microservices using Spring Boot Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven systems using Kafka or similar platforms Write clean, modular, and maintainable code aligned with best practices Participate in system design and architecture discussions Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams for end-to-end delivery Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability Work on SQL and NoSQL database design and optimization Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments Perform code reviews and mentor junior engineers Troubleshoot production issues and ensure system stability Required Skills: 5-10 years of experience in backend development Strong proficiency in Core Java (8/11/17+) Hands-on experience with Scala Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems Strong understanding of distributed systems, multithreading, and concurrency Experience with SQL (Oracle/PostgreSQL/SQL Server) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Cassandra) Hands-on with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes Exposure to AWS/ Azure/ GCP Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Great backend systems are not built for today’s load, they are engineered for tomorrow’s unknown scale.
