Remitly Canada Operations, Inc.

Job Description

About the Role Senior Product Manager, Recipient & Payment Experience, you'll lead the product that sits at the heart of every Remitly transfer: the experience that lets a customer set up a recipient, choose how to pay, and send with confidence — without friction or error. The complexity behind this experience is real. Remitly operates across thousands of corridors, each with its own payout network rules, payment method requirements, and regulatory constraints.

Your job is to make that complexity invisible: building systems and frameworks that scale cleanly to Remitly’s global footprint, and crafting an experience that gets smarter over time. Think intelligent defaults, alias‑based lookup, and adaptive validation — turning what’s currently a manual form‑filling exercise into something that feels as intuitive as selecting a contact from your phone. You’ll operate at the intersection of interface and infrastructure, partnering with engineering, design, analytics, and risk to ship experiences that are fast, accurate, and globally compliant.

And you’ll bring AI into both your workflow and your product — using it to accelerate how you work, and identifying where it can meaningfully improve what customers experience. You Will Define the product strategy, roadmap, and prioritisation for recipient setup, payment method selection, and the validation and field logic that power them across Remitly's global corridor portfolio. Be a customer advocate — translating qualitative research, usability studies, and quantitative signals (including through AI‑assisted synthesis tools) into product decisions that reduce friction and improve first‑attempt success rates.

Lead the scalability strategy for setup experiences: partner with engineering, design, analytics, and risk to ensure that corridor‑specific rules, payment method nuances, and eligibility constraints are handled through systems and frameworks that are accurate, performant, globally compliant, and can grow without manual overhead. Lead the evolution of recipient setup from manual data entry toward alias‑based, identity‑first experiences that make sending feel as easy as selecting a contact. Design A/B experiments, summarise results, and deliver applicable recommendations to the team and senior team members.

Partner with engineering and data science to prototype, evaluate, and ship AI‑powered capabilities, including intelligent autofill, alias‑based lookup, smart defaults, and adaptive validation. Define clear success metrics and guardrails for responsible deployment. Use AI tools in your own product management workflow — from summarising qualitative research signals at scale, to drafting and iterating on product specs, to prototyping and validating concepts.

Set and own goals in partnership with engineering, and manage understanding across teams with adjacent dependencies. Partner with external payment networks and internal stakeholders to understand network‑specific requirements, surface new capability opportunities, and stay ahead of payment method changes. You Have 7+ years of product management experience delivering measurable outcomes on consumer‑facing products at scale. 5+ years building consumer‑facing mobile or web products within payments, FinTech, or a high‑complexity checkout or onboarding experience.

Experience with payments ecosystems — including card, bank transfer, real‑time payment rails, and local payment methods — and the ability to translate payment method complexity into clear customer experiences. Proficiency in designing experiments, interpreting funnel data, and making data‑driven prioritisation decisions. Experience working across recipient or identity‑verification flows, including validation logic, autofill, or alias‑based lookup.

Experience building and scaling systems and frameworks that handle diverse, corridor‑specific requirements without requiring custom engineering work for each case. Experience motivating and aligning teams — engineering, UX, analytics, compliance, and operations — and navigating tough technical tradeoffs with care. Experience setting product strategy and leading teams using Agile and lean methodologies.

Experience working in regulated environments, understanding compliance and risk constraints, and finding creative paths that serve both the customer and the business. Demonstrated fluency with AI as a daily PM tool — you use AI‑assisted tooling to accelerate your work, and you can critically evaluate new AI capabilities as they emerge. A hands‑on orientation toward AI as a product feature: identifying where AI unlocks step‑change improvements in existing experiences, prototyping concepts using LLM APIs or modern tooling, evaluating quality and failure modes, and defining the guardrails needed to ship responsibly at scale.
