Job Description Job Description Description: MVE Group is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Senior Electrical Estimator to support commercial, industrial, and renewable energy projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates while also helping improve estimating processes, systems, and collaboration across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong estimating knowledge with leadership, organization, and a mindset of continuous improvement.
Core Objectives Deliver accurate and competitive electrical estimates Improve estimating consistency, efficiency, and workflow Support alignment between estimating, design, preconstruction, and operations Help strengthen estimating systems, tools, and processes Contribute to a high-performing and collaborative estimating team Tasks / Duties / Responsibilities Estimating Leadership & Oversight Lead estimating efforts for commercial, industrial, and renewable energy projects Prepare detailed estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents Participate in bid reviews and pricing discussions Ensure estimates are organized, complete, and aligned with project execution Department Leadership & Process Development Support estimating workflow coordination and process improvement Help standardize estimating procedures and best practices Collaborate closely with design, preconstruction, and operations teams Assist with mentoring and supporting estimating team members Technology & Innovation Support implementation and improvement of estimating technologies and software Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting Stay current on industry trends and estimating tools Quantity Takeoffs & Scope Development Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using industry-standard software Define scope inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, and clarifications Identify design gaps, conflicts, and constructability concerns Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing Build and maintain strong supplier relationships Support procurement and pricing discussions Risk Identification & Constructability Identify project risks related to schedule, procurement, labor, and constructability Participate in constructability and project review discussions Help ensure projects are properly defined before turnover to operations Continuous Improvement & Feedback Loop Analyze estimate performance and support process improvements Refine labor units and estimating assumptions using field feedback Support initiatives that improve margin performance and estimate accuracy Requirements: Skills / Abilities / Attribute Requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating-related software Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Detail-oriented and process-driven mindset Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Education / Experience / Certification Requirements 7+ years of electrical estimating experience preferred Commercial and/or industrial electrical construction experience preferred Experience with design-build projects preferred Strong understanding of electrical construction methods and labor productivity Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar platforms Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and electrical plans
