Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT), an employee‑owned consulting engineering firm, is seeking a highly motivated Site Civil Project Engineer to join our growing Site and Infrastructure team of design professionals in our Rockville, MD or Herndon, VA office. The engineer will primarily support projects in the assigned office and may also be involved with opportunities in other AMT offices.
We provide an excellent work/life balance and a hybrid schedule. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without employer sponsorship. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship (H1‑B or OPT).
Responsibilities Assist the project manager and engineering staff in preparing construction documents and designing site and infrastructure improvements, including grading, utilities, erosion control, and stormwater management. Prepare design calculations and reports. Process construction and permit documents through regulatory agencies.
Interact with clients. Provide construction support services, including site inspections and construction administration duties. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in planning and civil engineering design of mixed‑use, residential, commercial, institutional, and public site development projects.
B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution. EIT required; PE preferred. Ability to prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Ability to assist with engineering studies and reports. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
