Description Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 Employee Classification: Full-time/Exempt (Executive and Creative Professional) Job Summary The Design Project Manager is a mid-to-senior level leadership role responsible for overseeing a multi-disciplinary design unit made up of teams specializing in interactive educational design, UI/UX design, print design, and general web maintenance. This position balances creative expertise with team leadership, AI familiarity, and knowledge to ensure high-quality design output, efficient workflows, and alignment with organizational goals. Primary duties include supervising and mentoring team members who produce professional design work, applying a master level knowledge of design-based technology, and being capable of teaching and introducing new technologies such as proprietary or AI-based software.
The Design Project Manager also plays a key role in setting design standards, providing technical feedback, and fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and application of new technologies, thoughtfully within the design unit. Key Responsibilities Manage, supervise, and mentor the Design Unit, including teams across interactive educational design, UI/UX, print, and web. Conduct one-on-one meetings, team check-ins, provide detailed technical creative feedback during design reviews to maintain excellence, and design training sessions to support growth and accountability.
Explore emerging technologies (AI) and advancements in design based software while developing detailed growth plans and strategies to develop the design team in this skill. Collaborate with Art Managers, project leads, stakeholders, and other company leaders to ensure design deliverables meet deadlines and project goals. Support cross-team communication and foster a collaborative, solutions-driven design culture.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interactive Media, or related field (or equivalent experience). 6-8+ years of professional design experience, including 2-4 years in a management or supervisory role with excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to oversee multi-disciplinary design teams and deliver high-quality work across interactive, UI/UX, print, and web with Spanish and WCAG familiarity being a plus. Owning the team’s AI playbook, piloting approved tools, review processes, licensing, data privacy, and brand integrity, and establishing QA/review gates for AI-generated work.
Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in interactive and visual design. Ability to translate creative workflows into trackable project systems and documentation. Location: The Design Projects Manager is not a remote work position.
All employees must live within commuting distance of Music Row in Nashville. All team members must work a minimum of 3 days a week in the office on the QuaverEd campus and are allowed 2 days remote. This requirement is subject to change at the discretion of the team member's Supervisor and company policies.
