Senior Software Developer

Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements We require a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field. We require at least 5 years of experience in computer programming or a similar field. We require strong proficiency in Python, C#, SQL, and PHP.

We require strong working knowledge of Windows OS, including Windows 10/11. We require a good understanding and practical application of version control tools, including Git. We require experience with CI/CD pipelines.

We require experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. We require excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. We require strong organizational and time-management skills.

We require critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills. We require the ability to analyse systems and build automation processes. We require experience with Docker.

We require in-depth knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. We require experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, e-commerce solutions such as EDI and PunchOut, and website development. We prefer experience with Magento and front-end and back-end app and website development.

We require the ability to work to tight deadlines. We prefer project management experience and the ability to create and implement design plans. Responsibilities We design and develop APIs and backend services to support business systems and integrations.

We design, code, test, review, and document software and applications to meet business and user needs to the highest standard. We update software using the latest techniques and best practices. We lead code reviews and enforce development best practices.

We apply secure coding practices, including for APIs. We design and own scalable, maintainable system architectures. We generate reports on the development process and application performance.

We assist teams with software development direction and provide procedures and training on new systems. We report plans and progress to the IT team. We conduct system and process analyses to identify weaknesses and opportunities.

We ensure our IT software and infrastructure are sufficient, stable, and secure. We develop, support, and provide technical advice on current systems, including SAP B1 HANA. We contribute to and direct the development process.

We liaise with and manage third parties. We collaborate with senior system users and other stakeholders to improve ways of working across the business. We design, develop, test, implement, and support key in-house database systems.

We build and deploy machine learning features and data-driven applications. We integrate machine learning models into our product ecosystem.
