Web Development Team Lead

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Web Development Team L ead to drive the engineering of a large-scale, business-critical web platform built on Laravel (PHP), ReactJS , a nd AWS cloud infrastructure .

This is a hands-on leadership role: you will spend roughly 60–70% of your time writing and reviewing code, and the remainder mentoring a team of developers, shaping technical direction, and partnering with product and stakeholders to deliver reliably at scale. You will own the technical health of the platform end to end — architecture, code quality, performance, security, and delivery — while growing a high-performing, collaborative engineering team. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of a large, multi-module web application across the Laravel backend and ReactJS frontend.

Make and document key technical decisions (frameworks, patterns, data models, API contracts) and ensure they align with long-term scalability and maintainability. Define and enforce engineering standards: coding conventions, code review practices, branching strategy, testing requirements, and definitions. Own non-functional requirements — performance, scalability, security, and reliability — and proactively address technical debt.

Hands-on Development Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code in PHP/Laravel and JavaScript/TypeScript with ReactJS . Design and build robust RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, background jobs, queues, and event-driven workflows. Optimize database design and queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies for large datasets.

Lead code reviews and pair with developers to raise overall code quality. Cloud & DevOps (AWS)Architect and manage application infrastructure on AWS (e.g., EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, SQS, ElastiCache, API Gateway). Champion CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, and reliable, repeatable deployments.

Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting for production stability and rapid incident response. Team & Delivery Management Lead, mentor, and grow a team of mid-level and senior developers; conduct 1:1s and support career development. Break down large initiatives into clear, estimable work; manage sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions. Communicate status, risks, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Required Skills & Experience 6+ years of professional web development experience, with 2+ years in a technical lead or senior role.

Deep expertise in PHP and the Laravel framework (Eloquent, queues, events, service container, testing). Strong proficiency i n ReactJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript, including state management (Redux, Zustand, or Context), hooks, and component architecture. Solid experience deploying and operating applications on AWS at scale.

Strong relational database skills (MySQL or PostgreSQL) and experience optimizing for large data volumes. Proven experience with CI/CD, version control (Git), automated testing, and code review processes. Demonstrated ability to architect, scale, and maintain large or complex web applications.

Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder-management skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience. What We Offer A leadership role on a high-impact, large-scale product.
