Principal Engineer

Salary: £90,000 - 100,000 per year Requirements We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer with extensive .NET / C# experience in large-scale, complex systems. We require strong hands‑on expertise with AWS cloud platforms. We need proven experience designing scalable, distributed, and microservices architectures.

We value deep understanding of APIs, system design, and integration patterns. We require strong experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices. We are looking for someone who can influence technical direction through expertise rather than authority.

We consider experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerisation desirable. We consider knowledge of event‑driven systems and architectures desirable. We consider exposure to front‑end technologies such as React or Angular desirable.

We consider experience within fintech or regulated environments desirable. Responsibilities We will expect you to design and build scalable, distributed systems using .NET (C#). We will rely on you to define and evolve system architecture across AWS cloud environments.

You will lead complex technical challenges and system design decisions. You will ensure our platforms are built for performance, scalability, security, and resilience. You will act as a go‑to technical expert within our engineering function.

You will champion best practices, clean code, and modern engineering standards. You will contribute to architectural discussions and guide technical direction without line management responsibility. You will support and influence our wider engineering team through knowledge sharing and technical mentorship.

You will contribute directly to coding, design, and delivery of key systems. You will work across the full lifecycle from design through deployment and optimisation. You will drive improvements across CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud‑native practices.

You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to deliver high‑impact solutions.
