Molecular Biology Specialist / Research Scientist (Remote | $35 –$50/hr)

Biology Labeling Expert – India Hourly Contract | Remote | $35 –$50 per hour 1. About the Role Mercor is seeking PhD holders, doctoral candidates, and exceptional Master’s graduates in Biology and related disciplines to join a high-impact AI research initiative in collaboration with a leading artificial intelligence lab . This role is ideal for scientists passionate about applying their biological expertise to cutting-edge AI model development and evaluation.

You’ll analyze and assess how large language models (LLMs) reason through complex biological concepts, research methods, and data interpretation. 2. Key Domains We welcome experts from one or more of the following areas: Molecular & Cellular Biology: Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Genomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics Organismal & Evolutionary Biology: Evolutionary Biology, Developmental Biology, Ecology, Microbiology, Virology, Botany, Zoology Biomedical & Applied Life Sciences: Immunology, Neurobiology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Systems Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology Interdisciplinary Biological Sciences: Biophysics, Structural Biology, Synthetic Biology, Environmental Biology 3. Key Responsibilities Evaluate scientific accuracy, conceptual rigor, and reasoning quality in LLM-generated content across biological domains.

Review AI outputs related to experimental design, data analysis, and theoretical models in life sciences. Identify factual inaccuracies, logical inconsistencies, and conceptual misunderstandings . Benchmark AI model performance on advanced biological and interdisciplinary problems.

Work independently and asynchronously using proprietary evaluation tools . 4. Ideal Qualifications PhD (candidate or recipient) or Master’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or related fields. Strong command of graduate-level biological concepts and scientific reasoning .

Excellent analytical and written communication skills. Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment . 5. Role Details Commitment: ~20 hours per week (flexible schedule).

Location: Fully remote (India-based applicants only). Work Environment: Asynchronous, research-driven, and collaborative. 6. Compensation & Contract Terms Rate: $20–$30 per hour, based on expertise and domain depth.
