Senior Systems Analyst Competition No: 2026-145 Duration: Regular Full Time Salary: $63.45 – 66.13 – 69.07 – 71.97 – 75.11/hour Special Notes: Subject to Note ‘T’ of Schedule ‘B’ of the CUPE 23 Inside Division Collective Agreement Last Updated: 6/11/26 Overview This position works in the IT Public Services Applications organizational unit. This is complex analytical work at the senior level in coordinating and overseeing the planning, implementation, sustainment and efficient delivery of enterprise applications for reliability services and adherence to established standards and practices for the organization. An incumbent develops multi-year application roadmaps; coordinates system upgrades and enhancements; ensures solutions align with business needs and technical standards; and coordinates and leads major projects.

Considerable independence of judgement and action is exercised in the administration of the unit with complex problems or policy matters discussed with a supervisor who reviews work performance in terms of effective and efficient delivery of services and attainment of desired objectives. The incumbent will oversee the full lifecycle of applications, including roadmap development, system upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing sustainment; ensure that solutions are designed and delivered in alignment with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards such as evaluating emerging technologies and vendor platforms to support modernization efforts, improving system performance, and guiding long-term investment decisions. Performs related work as required.

Responsibilities Oversee the full lifecycle of applications, including roadmap development, system upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing sustainment. Develop multi-year application roadmaps and coordinate upgrades and enhancements to ensure alignment with business objectives and enterprise standards. Evaluate emerging technologies and vendor platforms to support modernization efforts, improve system performance, and guide long-term investment decisions.

Coordinate and lead major projects related to enterprise applications and reliability services. Ensure solutions are designed and delivered in alignment with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards. Exercise considerable independence of judgement and action in the administration of the unit; discuss complex problems or policy matters with a supervisor as needed.

Qualifications Completion of a university degree in computer sciences or engineering with specific courses related to application systems technologies and the methods and techniques used in application system architecture and data integrations, and considerable related experience including experience in project management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Thorough knowledge of application systems technologies and methods used in application system architecture and data integrations; IT governance, cybersecurity, privacy and accessibility standards; and problem definition and solution techniques applicable to the work performed. Ability to review project progress, resource allocation, budget compliance and alignment with departmental goals and the effective and efficient delivery of services and attainment of objectives; review vendor commitments for adherence to cybersecurity policies, secure configurations and access controls; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and external contacts; prepare and present technical presentations both orally and in writing; and prepare and maintain a variety of reports, records, statistics and documentation.

A Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
