Senior Business Analyst

What Youll Be Doing (position summary): As a Senior Business Analyst, youll lead complex projects to design strategic solutions aligned to CIBCs enterprise architecture roadmap. Youll support end-to-end project implementation and act as a subject matter expert in both business and technology. Youll ideate and collaborate with a diverse team to create and set up flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience.

The incumbent is responsible for providing technical expertise for service delivery and operations for the project management office tools and systems. The role works on complex issues involving one or more technical areas, mentoring employees and performing tasks of advanced technical depth and breadth. The role exercises independent judgement to continuously improve the existing program and project management discipline, providing consulting to IT and Business Management on applying technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation.

The role devises new methods and procedures using strong analytic and inductive thinking, facilitating the application of new technologies to support existing processes. How Youll Succeed (responsibilities): Work closely with business partners to gather complicated business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.

Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems. Validate and document business requirements for assigned projects to maximize operational efficiency.

Ensure project control procedures and policies are executed. Provide operational support for projects after implementation, including problem resolution and recommendations. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Collaborates with business partners to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet project needs.

Works with technology and project professionals to support end-to-end project implementation. Builds strong relationships across departments to facilitate solution design and project success. Interacts with end-users to provide support and training on implemented applications.

JOB DIMENSIONS: Scope includes enterprise-wide projects impacting multiple business units and stakeholders.

Provides advisory services and operational support for implemented systems and processes. Responsible for validating requirements and supporting process improvements across assigned projects. Experience: 7+ years of experience.

Who You Are (skills/qualifications): Must Have Skills: 7+ years in a BSC role leading project and designing solutions. Strong client-focused mindset; engages with purpose to find the right solutions. Ability to investigate complex problems and communicate detailed information effectively.

Collaborative team player, driven by collective success and inclusive teamwork. Strong influence and relationship-building skills. Experience with Agile methodologies and Application and/or Architecture Development is an asset.
