You are fullyaccountable for day-to-day operations, team leadership, customerexperience, and store performance ensuring the location operatessafely, efficiently, and in alignment with Petcostandards. This role requires a hands-on leaderwho can balance people leadership, operational execution, andbusiness results while setting the tone for culture,accountability, and serviceexcellence. WhatYou’ll Do PetFirst Own the safety, care,and well-being of pets and pet parents within the Pet CareCenter.

Ensure all policies, procedures, andsafety standards are executed consistently and withoutexception. Create a clean, safe, and welcomingenvironment that reflects Petco’s commitment to responsible petcare. Lead with integrity and sound judgment inall decisions impacting pets, customers, andpartners.

Foster theFun Build, lead, and developa high performing, engaged team that delivers exceptionalservice. Set clear expectations, provideongoing coaching, and hold partners accountable for results andbehaviors. Create a culture of inclusion,teamwork, and trust where partners feel supported, recognized, andmotivated.

Lead visibly from the sales floor,modeling Petco’s selling behaviors and servicestandards. Let’sGo! Own total storeperformance, including sales results, labor productivity, expensecontrol, and operational execution.

Translatecompany strategy into clear store priorities and daily executionplans. Analyze sales and operational data,identify trends, and take decisive action to driveresults. Plan and manage labor schedules tomeet business needs while supporting customerexperience.

Execute merchandising, inventory,and promotional standards with precision andconsistency. Serve as Leader on Duty, makingtimely decisions and resolving issues to keep the business movingforward. #LI-MV1 KeyResponsibilities Business& OperationalPerformance Act as thesingle point of accountability for store performance, compliance,and culture. Ensure the store is opened andclosed according to security and safetyprocedures.

Protect company assets throughstrong inventory control, shrink awareness, and loss preventionpractices. Ensure all administrative, payroll,and operational tasks are completed accurately and ontime. Maintain store appearance, cleanliness,and brand standards at alltimes.

PeopleLeadership Recruit, hire,onboard, and develop talent aligned to store needs andvolume. Lead performance management, coaching,and development conversations. Build asustainable talent pipeline and succession plan appropriate tostore size.

Address performance or conductconcerns promptly andprofessionally. What SuccessLooks Like The storeconsistently meets or exceeds sales and operational expectationsfor its volume. Customers experience friendly,knowledgeable, and reliable service everyvisit.

Partners are engaged, accountable, andproud of their store. The Pet Care Centeroperates safely, compliantly, and efficiently — withoutsurprises. WhatYou Bring Experience &Skills 2+ years ofmanagement experience (retail leadershippreferred).

Strong people leadership, coaching,and talent development skills. Solid business,financial, and operational acumen. Excellentcommunication, problem-solving, and organizationalabilities.

A genuine passion for pets andcustomerservice. Education Highschool diploma or GED preferred. Completion ofPetco leadership development programs may be required for internalcandidates.

EssentialFunctions & Work Environment Thisrole is primarily performed in a Pet Care Center retailenvironment . The Store Manager is expected to beregularly present on the sales floor, leading by example andengaging with partners, customers, andpets. Majority of work is conductedindoors; however, occasional duties may require leaving the PetCare Center for tasks such as bank deposits, merchandise transport,or community events.

The role requires frequentstanding and walking, as well as bending, kneeling, reaching, andlifting. Ability to safely lift and movemerchandise, supplies, or animals weighing up to 50pounds. Regular engagement with customerson the sales floor, including providing customer assistance andperforming cashiering and point-of-saletransactions.

Must be able to work in proximityto animals, including exposure to animal dander, odors, noises, andcleaning chemicals. Flexible availability tosupport Pet Care Center operating hours, including evenings,weekends, and holidays. This is a full-timeposition.

Eligibility for full-time status is based on averagehours worked, as defined by company policy and applicablelaw. A limited amount of travel may be requiredfor training, meetings, or communityengagement.
