Role Overview We have an opportunity for someone to join us as an Application Support Analyst to work in a truly global environment to work on the Commodity Trading and Risk Management system (CTRM). Job Summary Hartree Metals LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Application Support Analyst to join our Concentrates Technology team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a Commodity Trading and Risk Management system (CTRM), and a strong techno-functional background with Power BI, Python, SQL, etc.
This role also requires familiarity with trading, risk, and operational workflows Key Accountabilities CTRM System Management: -Serve as a key user and administrator of the CTRM system, ensuring accurate data capture and functionality for concentrates trading. -Provide L1 support to Operators for trade capture, deliveries and invoices -Partner with IT and trading teams to optimise system configurations and troubleshoot issues. -Develop and maintain reports and dashboards within the CTRM system to enhance visibility into positions, usability, trade performance, and operational bottlenecks. Techno-Functional Collaboration: -Leverage a techno-functional skillset to bridge business and technical requirements, enabling efficient process automation and system integration. -Support the development and deployment of new CTRM modules, upgrades, and interfaces with upstream/downstream systems. Process Formalisation, Improvement and Reporting: -Identify, formalise, and implement improvements in operational workflows for concentrates trade capture, contract management, and settlement. -Generate detailed reports on P&L, position reconciliation, and quality adjustments for front office, risk, and product control teams. -Leverage Business Intelligence tools, including Power BI, to create interactive dashboards and visualisations for enhanced decision-making and data analysis. -Support the automation of manual processes to reduce errors and improve efficiency.
Ad-hoc support for back-office functions -Provide L1 support on tools dedicated to the different Concentrates desk teams. -Daily process monitoring to identify and resolve breaks in reports Skills and Experience Education: -Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: -3–5 years of experience in metals concentrates trading or related commodity markets. -Hands-on experience with CTRM systems (e.g., Aspect, CE Balsamo, OpenLink, Eka) and a techno-functional background. -Knowledge in back-office functions in a commodity trading company and understanding of assays, blending economics, moisture adjustments, and impurity penalties in metal concentrates is a plus. Skills: -Advanced in Power BI, Python, and SQL -Proficiency in CTRM system administration and configuration. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex trade data and contracts. -Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI for creating reports and dashboards. -Excellent communication skills to work effectively with front-office traders, IT, and operational teams.
