Adecco is currently hiring a Windows Support Engineer for a full‑time 1‑year contract opportunity in Ottawa, ON. This role is ideal for a technical professional with strong experience in Windows Server environments who enjoys working in a high‑availability, hybrid infrastructure setting. Compensation and Details Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year Location: Ottawa, ON Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (On‑call and overtime may be required) Employment Type: Full‑Time, 1‑Year Contract Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy. Responsibilities Provide direct support for project and platform operations, including deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of Windows Server environments (on‑premise and cloud). Deliver ongoing Level 2 technical support for enterprise banking environments, ensuring system stability and performance.

Support application owners, developers, and internal/external stakeholders through ServiceNow ticketing systems. Maintain and upgrade Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2016-2022). Administer Microsoft Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Microsoft SCCM environments.

Monitor server performance and capacity, identifying and resolving issues proactively. Develop, implement, and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Azure‑based services. Create and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible playbooks.

Contribute to the design and implementation of automation and orchestration processes. Perform root cause analysis and implement long‑term solutions for recurring technical issues. Document all system changes, upgrades, procedures, and interactions through detailed SOPs.

Develop technical documentation, Visio diagrams, and knowledge base articles. Participate in change management processes and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Recommend improvements to system performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Work in a multi‑tiered, highly secure, and large‑scale production environment. Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines. Participate in on‑call rotations and support escalations as required.

Qualifications Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada. University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience supporting critical applications in a hybrid IT environment.

Minimum 2 years of experience with Windows Server administration (2016-2022 environments). Strong experience with Microsoft SCCM and Group Policy administration. Experience in performance monitoring and capacity planning for enterprise servers.

Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Azure DevOps. Strong scripting experience using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible playbooks. Experience in automation development and deployment of orchestration processes.

Strong understanding of enterprise‑level Windows Server architecture. Experience working within change management frameworks and ITIL‑based environments. Strong documentation skills, including SOP creation, Visio diagrams, and technical knowledge transfer.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to work independently in high‑pressure, mission‑critical environments. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
