Job Description
The purpose of this job is to provide all aspects of Windows Desktop administration and provide technical guidance and support for windows administration. This position will also handle escalated incidents and perform root cause analysis of any problems that may arise out of Incident Report (IR) and/or proactive needs for business. Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day incidents and requests arising in Desktop and Remote Access environments within SLA Provide support for Citrix remote access environment including off-hours maintenance Manage Active Directory settings as they apply to the systems managed by the department Work with end users and IT staff to analyze and resolve problems escalated by the Service Desk.
Support distribution of software using Altiris Vulnerability remediation Group Policies (Desktop & Client Environment) Altiris (Reporting, Patch management & SW Distribution) Ivanti Device & Application Control Support patching workstations, desktops and virtual workstations. Workstation/Laptop Configuration, Remote Computing, PAC file, Enterprise mode site list scripting & workstation build process Should aware MFA (Multifactor authentication – sign&go, SafeNet, Open Trust CMS) Should be aware tools like account lockout, treesize pro, Bomgar, procmon, RAAD, Windows performance recorder Support file and print services for end users like print management for UNIFLOW File Server Management: NAS, Venyue, Backup & Restore, Zone Central Support building cameras and management systems in several US sites Support AppSense environment for workstations and Citrix Support Antivirus and DLP systems Manage and complete assigned projects Provide status reports on managed systems Must be willing to handle varying shifts Minimum Qualifications Graduate or postgraduate in Technology with Computers or Information Technology (IT) stream. Or A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification.
Preferred Qualification: Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to effectively interact with end users and IT staff in implementation of new functionality and solving problems Strong written and verbal communication skills. Capability to coordinate and execute projects assigned Experience with batch scripting, VB and PowerShell as it relates to software implementation and workstation management Experience supporting Citrix XenApp 6.5, 7.15 or higher Experience supporting in Windows 10 and its components: Registry Bit locker Dot Net MSI Installations Experience with Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016 Support File and print services on Windows 2012 & 2016 Servers Capability to coordinate and execute projects assigned Ability to update and support Symantec Endpoint Protection, Lumens ion and AppSense Capital Markets Domain knowledge is preferred. Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), integration across Incident, Problem & Change (IPC) Management.
Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting. Technical and system expertise in relevant IT workstreams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced troubleshooting, including the ability to delve into more complex issues, which require a deeper understanding of systems and applications. Specialized knowledge in specific areas allows them to tackle intricate problems. Collaboration with L1 Support to provide guidance and share insights for ongoing issue resolution.
Strong problem-resolving abilities, communication skills (written and verbal), time administration and management, and team partnership and collaboration. Escalation to L3 Support in a timely manner when challenges require an even higher level of expertise and/or experience. Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders in implementation of new functionality and solving problems.
