Job Overview

Spaceshop is an e‑commerce agency based in Greater Toledo, Ohio, specializing in Shopify, Magento, and Amazon. We’re seeking a Magento Developer to join our local and remote team to implement high‑quality e‑commerce websites on the Adobe Magento 2 platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and configure e‑commerce solutions on the Magento 2 platform.
• Work independently to identify and complete projects efficiently.
• Collaborate with small teams on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Handle urgent client requests during the work week.
• Write testable, documented, and efficient front‑end and back‑end code.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle—from specification and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Participate actively in client meetings with the project lead to create appropriate solutions and communicate technical details.
• Identify potential gaps between client requests and implementation plans and propose new solutions.
• Design functional web solutions with a broad understanding of browser compatibility.
• Use and maintain version control with Git.
• Drive process improvement using Agile methodologies.
• Travel to customer locations as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of total professional experience in software development projects.
• 3+ years of professional front‑end web development experience with HTML/CSS, SASS, LESS, and JavaScript.
• 2+ years of professional PHP development experience.
• 1+ year of professional experience developing and/or administering e‑commerce websites, preferably Magento 2.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Nice to have: Magento 2 Certification.
• Nice to have: System integration experience with SOAP or REST APIs.
• Nice to have: Knockout JS knowledge.
• Nice to have: Agile certification such as CSM.
• Nice to have: Project management experience.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field ideal; however, strong motivation and honesty can compensate for lack of a degree.
