About the Role

As Warehouse Supervisor, you will lead the day‑to‑day operations of our warehouse, ensuring inventory is accurately received, stored, managed and dispatched to support our customers and internal teams.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, people leadership skills, inventory management expertise and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. You'll play a critical role in ensuring Highgate delivers on its promise of speed, accuracy and reliability.

About the Role

As Warehouse Supervisor, you will lead the day‑to‑day operations of our warehouse, ensuring inventory is accurately received, stored, managed and dispatched to support our customers and internal teams.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, people leadership skills, inventory management expertise and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. You'll play a critical role in ensuring Highgate delivers on its promise of speed, accuracy and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, put‑away, picking, packing and dispatch.

  • Ensure all inventory movements are processed accurately and efficiently.

  • Allocate resources and manage workflows to meet customer and operational deadlines.

  • Maintain warehouse organisation, cleanliness and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure all warehouse equipment is operated safely and maintained appropriately.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain high levels of inventory accuracy across all warehouse stock.

  • Manage cycle counting programs, stocktakes and inventory audits.

  • Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Ensure products are stored, handled and protected according to company standards.

  • Support inventory optimisation initiatives to improve availability and minimise stock loss.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach and develop warehouse team members.

  • Foster a positive, high‑performance culture built on accountability and teamwork.

  • Conduct performance discussions and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.

  • Assist with workforce planning, rostering and resource allocation.

  • Promote employee engagement, safety awareness and continuous improvement.

Safety & Compliance

  • Drive a strong safety‑first culture across warehouse operations.

  • Ensure compliance with WHS policies, procedures and legislative requirements.

  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety inspections and risk assessments.

  • Investigate incidents, hazards and near misses, implementing corrective actions where required.

  • Maintain compliance with all warehouse and material handling requirements.

Logistics & Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound freight activities.

  • Liaise with suppliers, transport providers and internal stakeholders.

  • Partner closely with Purchasing, Operations, Service and Projects teams to ensure product availability and customer requirements are met.

  • Monitor delivery performance and support continuous supply chain improvements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse productivity, accuracy and efficiency.

  • Support the implementation and optimisation of warehouse systems and technology.

  • Develop and maintain best‑practice warehouse procedures and processes.

  • Contribute to operational improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Inventory Performance

  • Inventory accuracy percentage

  • Cycle count completion and variance rates

  • Reduction in stock discrepancies and inventory write‑offs

  • Inventory availability and stock fulfilment performance

Warehouse Operations

  • On‑time pick, pack and dispatch rates

  • Order accuracy and error reduction

  • Receiving turnaround times

  • Warehouse productivity and throughput measures

Safety & Compliance

  • Lost Time Injury (LTI) and incident rates

  • Completion of safety inspections and toolbox meetings

  • WHS compliance performance

  • Hazard reporting and corrective action completion

Customer Service & Delivery

  • On‑time delivery performance

  • Internal stakeholder satisfaction

  • Freight and delivery accuracy

  • Resolution time for operational issues

People & Leadership

  • Team engagement and retention

  • Training and development completion

  • Performance management and coaching effectiveness

  • Attendance and roster adherence

Continuous Improvement

  • Process improvement initiatives implemented

  • Productivity gains achieved

  • Cost savings generated through operational improvements

About You

You are an experienced warehouse leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in building high‑performing teams and efficient operations.

You bring:

  • Proven experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader or similar leadership role.

  • Strong inventory management and warehouse operations experience.

  • Experience leading, mentoring and developing warehouse teams.

  • Sound understanding of warehouse systems, inventory controls and ERP platforms.

  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.

  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.

  • A safety‑first mindset and commitment to WHS compliance.

  • Forklift licence (preferred).

  • Experience in industrial, automotive, manufacturing, distribution or technical product environments will be highly regarded.
