Warehouse Manager

Responsibilities Direct and coordinate activities involved with procuring products for sales and distribution.

Review open sales orders, purchase orders, vendor claims, and transfers. Review warehouse procedures and ensure safety standards are met. Consult with regional buyers and/or vendors for product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

Manage inventory, control stock outs and reduce excessive inventory; perform cycle counts to prevent shrinkage. Manage freight expense and approve freight bills for payment; resolve Accounts Payable discrepancies in a timely manner. Supervise the routing, loading, and preparation of orders for shipment and delivery per customer instructions.

Train new employees on warehouse and distribution procedures. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, etc., to determine source of trouble and take corrective action. Support sales staff in meeting sales objectives.

Perform other non-essential duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. 3-5 years of operations experience in industrial distribution or a warehouse environment. Experience overseeing operations for a $5-10 million wholesale warehouse facility.

Experience managing a team of five or more employees. Computer skills including MS Office and inventory management software. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of industrial product lines such as pool and spa equipment, chemicals, construction materials, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, HVAC, auto parts, irrigation supplies, or similar. Must be 18 years of age or older.
