Warehouse Manager

Carleton Cakes is seeking a Warehouse Manager for their busy warehouse in Cootehill, Co. Monaghan. This is a hands‑on management role responsible for the safe, efficient, and organised day-to-day running of the warehouse.

The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 4 warehouse staff and oversee stock control, goods-in, order fulfilment, and dispatch. The role demands strong leadership to oversee warehouse functions, maintain audit readiness, manage inventory accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Duties include:

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, ensuring accurate and timely processing of goods inwards, dispatches, picking, and returns, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Lead, motivate and develop the warehouse team to achieve operational objectives.
• Monitor, manage & assist with stock accuracy, including regular stock takes, cycle counts, and investigation of discrepancies.
• Plan and manage warehouse resources, including labour, equipment, and space utilisation, to meet operational demand.
• Set, monitor, and report on KPIs covering productivity, accuracy, cost, and service levels.
• Develop and implement warehouse strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Maintain the warehouse in an audit-ready state for both customer and regulatory inspections, acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for warehouse visits.
• Investigate warehouse-related deviations or non-conformances, implement CAPA, and follow up to ensure resolution and compliance
• Manage relationships with transport providers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution management role, ideally within the food industry.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent warehouse and inventory management knowledge.
• Supply chain and logistics planning expertise.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems and ERP systems.
• Counterbalance & Reach truck experience is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
