VP of Engineering

Location This is a hybrid role based out of our San Francisco, CA office. Our team works in-office time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. About the Role Casap is seeking a VP-level operator to own the full engineering function, introduce process and rigor, and scale to 40-50+ engineers over 18 months.

What You'll Do Own all engineering decisions and the technical roadmap Balance startup-speed execution with process, hiring rigor, and code quality standards Pass technical screens and guide architectural decisions (real-time decisioning, card network integrations, AI/ML fraud scoring, compliance) Scale team from ~27 to 40-50+ engineers while maintaining culture and velocity Strong enough personality to push back on founders when needed. Technically credible - must pass technical screens Experience scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments Strong personality to push back on founders What You’ve Done 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams ideally in SaaS or fintech Scaled teams to 30+ engineers while being directly involved in interviewing and hiring Direct experience working with enterprise clients, especially in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and executive-level stakeholders Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments Nice to Have Bonus: Familiarity with fraud systems, payment infrastructure, or chargeback processes! #J-18808-Ljbffr
