Visualfiles Development Manager

Visualfiles Development Manager Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum Location: UK-based (Remote with 1 – 2 days in office per month) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Role Purpose This role will lead the firm’s software development function, manage a team of developers while drive best practice across the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality, scalable solutions, fostering collaboration across the business, and acting as a senior escalation point. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the role will remain technically hands-on where required, contributing to coding, design and review activities to ensure successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities Lead, manage and develop the Software Development team, including multiple direct reports Oversee and continuously improve development processes, including Agile methodologies and the full software development lifecycle Plan, deliver and monitor software projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives Take overall ownership of the delivery of large-scale projects, BAU development and escalated support issues Act as a key point of contact and escalation for stakeholders across the firm Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers Provide regular updates on delivery progress and contribute to strategic decision-making Define, implement and uphold development standards, fostering a high-performance team culture Support and mentor team members at all stages of their careers Contribute hands-on to development activities, including coding, peer reviews and design reviews, as needed Skills / Experience Essential: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience Proven experience (5+ years) in software development within a legal or professional services environment Experience working within legal IT or professional services environments Strong problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills In-depth experience with Visualfiles and its wider ecosystem Desirable but not essential: IT management or project management qualification Extensive experience (10+ years) in software development within a legal environment Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management tools Visualfiles Development Manager Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum Location: UK-based (Remote with 1 – 2 days in office per month) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
