Job Description

We are seeking a Village Manager to join our team in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs (Woollahra LGA). This is a part-time position offering an opportunity to lead and manage the operations of our retirement village community as it goes through a period of change. As Village Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents receive exceptional service whilst maintaining the highest standards of village operations.

This role is essential to creating a thriving, well-managed community environment where our residents can enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with residents, addressing concerns and ensuring their satisfaction
  • Overseeing day-to-day village operations and ensuring all facilities are maintained to a high standard
  • Managing and supervising village staff, fostering a positive workplace culture
  • Coordinating social and recreational activities that enhance residents' quality of life and community engagement
  • Managing budgets, monitoring expenditure and identifying opportunities for cost efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and health and safety standards
  • Liaising with external service providers and contractors to ensure quality delivery of services
  • Preparing reports and documentation related to village performance and resident matters
  • Promoting a culture of exceptional customer service throughout the village
  • Conducting tours with prospective residents.

What we are looking for

  • Have experience in sales, real estate, or hospitality, preferably in the retirement living industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with residents and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage a budget
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challenges
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for reporting and administrative tasks
  • A genuine passion for supporting and serving older adults within a community setting
  • Preferably, a qualification in management, business administration, or community services
